Koe lost 8-7 to Brad Gushue (St. John's, NL) where Koe responded with a 7-4 win over Jamie Koe (Yellowknife, NT). Koe went on to lose 6-5 against Steve Laycock (Saskatoon, SK). Koe responded with a 8-7 win over Reid Carruthers (Winnipeg, MB). Koe won 8-3 against Jeremy Mallais (Saint John, NB) in their final qualifying round match.

Koe earned 12.000 world rankings points for their preliminary round wins, remaining in 4th place overall on the World Ranking Standings with a net gain of 6 after improving upon their best so far this season.
