In their opening game, Gemmell defeated Ethan Meyers (Minneapolis, MN) 7-2, then went on to lose 7-2 against Heath McCormick (Blaine, USA). Gemmell responded with a 7-6 win over Brandon Corbett (Rochester, NY). Gemmell won 9-5 against Mark Haluptzok (Bemidji, MN). Gemmell went on to lose 8-0 against Brady Clark (Seattle, WA). Gemmell lost 8-3 to Craig Brown (Blaine, USA) where Gemmell responded with a 10-6 win over Paul Pustovar (Seattle, WA). Gemmell went on to lose 4-3 against Korey Dropkin (Blaine, USA). Gemmell lost 9-7 to John Shuster (Duluth, MN) in their final qualifying round match.
