Vaughan went on to lose 5-4 against Jeremy Mallais (Saint John, NB). Vaughan responded with a 6-4 win over Grattan in their final qualifying round match.

Vaughan earned 2.000 world rankings points for their Top 3 finish in the New Brunswick Tankard Final 8, moving up 38 spots the World Ranking Standings into 198th place overall with 4.988 total points.
