Mallais responded with a 5-4 win over Jason Vaughan (Saint John, NB). Mallais won 12-9 against Terry Odishaw (Saint John, NB) in their final qualifying round match.
 
For winning the New Brunswick Tankard Final 8 Championship title, Mallais earned 4.000 world rankings points, moving up 37 spots the World Ranking Standings into 122nd place overall with 11.350 total points.
