Kwan lost 8-7 to David Bykowski (Laurel, MD) where Kwan responded with a 12-4 win over Sean Mayne (Bridgeport, CT). Kwan went on to lose 10-5 against Andrew Stopera (Ardsley, NY). Kwan lost 8-5 to Melvin Shaw (Laurel, MD) in their final qualifying round match.
