Zang responded with a 7-1 win over Hans Frauenlob (Naseby, NZ). Zang went on to lose 6-2 against McCormick. Zang responded with a 5-1 win over Morozumi. Zang won 6-4 against Frauenlob in their final qualifying round match.

For winning the Curling Night in America Championship title, Zang earned 1.968 world rankings points, remaining in 24th place overall on the World Ranking Standings with 73.899 total points. Zang ranks 26th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with 27.968 points earned so far this season.
