Joel Retornaz (Cortina d'Ampezzo, ITA) finished 7-2 in the 0-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Retornaz lost 8-2 to Niklas Edin (Karlstad, SWE), then responded with a 7-4 win over Sven Michel (Adelboden, SUI). Retornaz went on to lose 6-5 against Evgeniy Arkhipov (Moscow, RUS). Retornaz responded with a 9-5 win over Thomas Ulsrud (Oslo, NOR). Retornaz won 7-6 against Jiri Snitil (Prague, CZE), then won 8-7 against Alexander Baumann (Fuessen, GER) and 8-2 against Ritvars Gulbis (Riga, LAT). Retornaz won 8-7 against Rasmus Stjerne (Hvidovre, DEN), then won 7-5 against David Edwards (Aberdeen, SCO) in their final qualifying round match.

Retornaz earned 20.000 world rankings points for their Top 4 finish in the Le Gruyere European Curling Championship. For week 14 of the event schedule, Retornaz did not improve upon their best events, remaining at th place on the World Ranking Standings with total points. Retornaz ranks th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with points earned so far this season.
