Bottcher finished 4-1 in the 16-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Bottcher defeated Sherrard 8-6, then went on to lose 6-3 against Sven Michel (Adelboden, SUI). Bottcher responded with a 6-5 win over Kurt Balderston (Grande Prairie, AB). Bottcher won 7-2 against Tom Sallows (Grande Prarie, AB), then won 7-2 against Jeff Stoughton (Winnipeg, MB) in their final qualifying round match.

Bottcher earned 9.800 world rankings points for their Top 3 finish in the Pomeroy Inn & Suites Prairie Showdown. Bottcher move up 1 spots after posting a net gain of 4.825 points improving upon their best results so far this season, ranking 17th overall with 136.019 total points on the World Ranking Standings. Bottcher ranks 11th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with 102.390 points earned so far this season.
