Mike McEwen (Winnipeg, MB) won 6-0 over Niklas Edin (Karlstad, SWE) in the Final of the Pomeroy Inn & Suites Prairie Showdown, held March 12 - 15, 2015 in Grande Prairie, Alberta. To advance to the championship game, McEwen won 7-3 over Brendan Bottcher (Edmonton, AB) in the semifinals of the 2015 Pomeroy Inn & Suites Prairie Showdown in Grande Prairie, Alberta; and won 7-3 over Kevin Koe (Calgary, AB) in the quarterfinals.
McEwen finished 3-0 in the 16-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, McEwen defeated Scott Webb (Grande Prarie, AB) 7-1, then won 5-4 against William Lyburn (Winnipeg, MB) and 5-2 against Sven Michel (Adelboden, SUI) in their final qualifying round match.
For winning the Pomeroy Inn & Suites Prairie Showdown Championship title, McEwen earned 16.800 world rankings points along with the $13,000CDN first prize cheque. For week 29 of the event schedule, McEwen did not improve upon their best events, remaining at 2nd place on the World Ranking Standings with 472.410 total points. McEwen ranks 1st overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with 275.000 points earned so far this season.
