Brent MacDougall (Halifax, NS) qualified for the 2014 Truro Cashspiel playoffs, dropping their quarterfinals match 6-2 against Andrew Symonds (St. John's, NL). of the 2014 Truro Cashspiel in Truro, Nova Scotia, Canada;

MacDougall finished 4-1 in the 18-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, MacDougall defeated Tommy Sullivan (Halifax, NS) 8-1, then won 8-3 against Alan O'Leary (Halifax, NS). MacDougall went on to lose 7-5 against Jamie Danbrook (Halifax , NS). MacDougall responded with a 7-6 win over Nick Hilton (Yarmouth, NS). MacDougall won 4-2 against Robert Mayhew (Wolfville, NS) in their final qualifying round match.

MacDougall earned 0.750 world rankings points for their Top 5 finish in the Truro Cashspiel, moving up 11 spots the World Ranking Standings into 174th place overall with 5.155 total points. MacDougall ranks 114th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with 4.145 points earned so far this season.
