David Sik (Prague, CZE) lost 7-6 to Aku Kauste (Helsinki, FIN) in the Final of the Edinburgh International, held November 7 - 9, 2014 at the Murrayfield Curling Club in Edinburgh, Scotland. To advance to the championship game, Sik won 6-4 over Scotland's Stuart Taylor in the semifinals   of the 2014 Edinburgh International in Edinburgh, Scotland, Scotland; and won 6-4 over Kyle Smith (Perth, SCO) in the quarterfinals.  of the 2014 Edinburgh International in Edinburgh, Scotland, Scotland; 
 
Sik finished 4-1 in the 24-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Sik lost 8-6 to Tom Brewster (Aberdeen, UK), then responded with a 6-5 win over Bruce Mouat (Edinburgh, SCO). Sik won 9-4 against Scotland's Graham Shedden, then won 6-4 against Slovakia's Juraj Gallo and 7-6 against Markku Uusipaavalniemi (Hyvinkaa, FIN) in their final qualifying round match.
 
With their runner-up finish at the Edinburgh International, Sik take home 3.325 world rankings points along with the $3,607CDN prize, moving up 15 spots the World Ranking Standings into 78th place overall with 15.405 total points. Sik ranks 107th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with 3.325 points earned so far this season.
