Frans finished 3-0 in the 24-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Frans defeated Craig Shinde (Mississauga, ON) 5-1, then won 6-1 against Rob Retchless (Toronto, ON) and 5-1 against Mike Jakubo (Sudbury, NONT) in their final qualifying round match.

For winning the Brantford Nissan Classic Championship title, Frans earned 11.750 world rankings points along with the $5,000CDN first prize cheque, moving up 15 spots the World Ranking Standings into 33rd place overall with 45.345 total points.
