Menard finished 5-2 in the 32-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Menard defeated Ian MacAulay (Ottawa, ON) 4-3, then won 6-1 against Mark Kean (Stoney Creek, ON). Menard went on to lose 7-2 against McEwen. Menard responded with a 7-6 win over Chris Gardner (Ottawa, ON). Menard went on to lose 6-4 against Peter De Cruz (Geneva, SUI). Menard responded with a 7-1 win over Ian Fitzner-Leblanc (Halifax, NS). Menard won 7-4 against John Epping (Toronto, ON) in their final qualifying round match.
 
With their runner-up finish at the Challenge Chateau Cartier de Gatineau, Menard take home 25.000 world rankings points along with the $7,500CDN prize, remaining in 17th place overall on the World Ranking Standings with 104.615 total points. Menard ranks 17th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with 35.375 points earned so far this season.
