McEwen finished 4-0 in the 30-team qualifying round. . McEwen won 8-1 against Aaron Squires (Kitchener-Waterloo, ON) in their final qualifying round match.

For winning the Stu Sells Oakville Tankard Championship title, McEwen earned 30.000 world rankings points along with the $7,500CDN first prize cheque, moving up 1 spots the World Ranking Standings into 2nd place overall with 227.410 total points. McEwen ranks 1st overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with 30.000 points earned so far this season.
