Laycock finished 3-2 in the 16-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Laycock defeated Warren Cross (Edmonton, AB) 6-2, then went on to lose 8-2 against King. Laycock responded with a 8-6 win over Wade White (Edmonton, AB). Laycock went on to lose 4-3 against Virtue. Laycock responded with a 4-3 win over Thomas Scoffin (Edmonton, AB) in their final qualifying round match.
