Stoughton won 9-6 against Jeff Currie (Thunder Bay, NONT), then won 7-4 against Steve Laycock (Saskatoon, SK) and 7-6 against John Morris (Vernon, BC). Stoughton won 8-6 against Greg Balsdon (Hamilton, ON) in their final qualifying round match.
