Newson finished 3-0 in the 0-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Newson defeated Donald Clarey (Montague, PEI) 8-4, then won 9-6 against Tyler Harris (Charlottetown, PEI) and 8-4 against MacKenzie in their final qualifying round match.
