To advance to the championship game, Trickett won 9-3 over James Bryson (St. John's, NL) in the semifinals of the 2014 Newfoundland & Labrador Juniors in St. Johns, Newfoundland / Labrador;
 
Trickett finished 3-1 in the 0-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Trickett defeated Greg Blyde (St. John's, NL) 9-5, then won 9-6 against Andrew Taylor (St. John's, NL) and 12-4 against Kyle Barron (Stephenville, NL). Trickett went on to lose 9-1 against Bryson in their final qualifying round match.
