Janet Plante (Grande Prairie, AB) lost 9-3 to Alberta's Krysta Hilker in the Final of the Grande Prairie Cash Spiel - Challenge, held October 27 - 29, 2017 at the Grande Prairie Curling Club in Grande Prairie, Canada. To advance to the championship game, Plante won 5-4 over Glen Godberson (Fort St. John, BC) in the semifinals of the 2017 Grande Prairie Cash Spiel - Challenge in Grande Prairie, Alberta, Canada; and won 8-3 over Cortland Sonnenberg (Grande Prairie, AB) in the quarterfinals.
 
Plante finished 3-2 in the 0-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Plante lost 10-5 to Mark Luckwell (Grande Prairie, AB), then responded with a 7-4 win over Elaine Laurin (Peace River, AB). Plante went on to lose 7-5 against Godberson. Plante responded with a 6-4 win over Doug Small (Peace River, AB). Plante won 7-0 against Alberta's Donald Dumont in their final qualifying round match.
