To advance to the championship game, Currie won 6-2 over Pete Fenson (Bemidji, MN) in the semifinals of the Coors Light Cash Spiel in Duluth, Minnesota, United States;
Currie finished 4-0 in the 24-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Currie defeated Minnesota's Eric Fenson 6-1, then won 5-1 against Brown and 10-4 against Massachusetts's Korey Dropkin. Currie won 7-2 against Minnesota's Dale Gibbs in their final qualifying round match.
With their runner-up finish at the Coors Light Cash Spiel, Currie take home 3.150 world rankings points along with the $2,343CDN prize, moving up 11 spots the World Ranking Standings into 109th place overall with 11.600 total points. Currie ranks 79th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with 8.750 points earned so far this season.
