Scott Ramsay (winnipeg, MB) lost 7-5 to Rui Liu (Harbin, CHN) in the Final of the FSCC U.S. Open of Curling, held January 3 - 5, 2014 in Blaine, Minnesota. To advance to the championship game, Ramsay won 8-2 over Minnesota's Pete Fenson in the semifinals of the 2014 FSCC U.S. Open of Curling in Blaine, Minnesota; and won 5-2 over Jeff Currie (Thunder Bay, ON) in the quarterfinals. of the 2014 FSCC U.S. Open of Curling in Blaine, Minnesota;
 
Ramsay finished 5-0 in the 24-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Ramsay defeated Ryan Berg (West Fargo, ND) 7-3, then won 6-1 against Courtney George (St. Paul, MN) and 7-4 against Heath McCormick (St Paul, MN). Ramsay won 6-5 against Todd Birr (Coon Rapids, MN), then won 9-0 against Sarah Anderson (Philadelphia, PA) in their final qualifying round match.
 
With their runner-up finish at the FSCC U.S. Open of Curling, Ramsay take home 5.425 world rankings points along with the $5,327CDN prize, moving up 20 spots the World Ranking Standings into 101st place overall with 15.075 total points. Ramsay ranks 70th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with 13.050 points earned so far this season.
