In their opening game, Wang defeated Cory Christensen (Duluth, MN) 5-2, then won 8-1 against Jennifer Spencer (Guelph, ON) and 10-2 against Erika Brown (Madison, WI). Wang won 8-2 against Cassie Potter (St. Paul, MN), then won 8-4 against Alexandra Carlson (St Paul, MN) in their final qualifying round match.
 
For winning the Fort Wayne Summer Cash Spiel Championship title, Wang earned 8.900 world rankings points along with the $2,000CDN first prize cheque. Wang gained 47.025 points improving upon their best events, though dropped 26 spots on the World Ranking Standings into 26thplace overall with 47.025 total points. Wang ranks 1st overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with 8.900 points earned so far this season.
