To advance to the championship game, Balsdon won 6-4 over Peter Corner (Brampton, ON) in the semifinals of the 2013 Brantford Nissan Classic in Brantford, Ontario, Canada; and won 6-5 over Mike Jakubo (Sudbury, ON) in the quarterfinals. of the 2013 Brantford Nissan Classic in Brantford, Ontario, Canada;
 
Balsdon finished 4-1 in the 32-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Balsdon defeated Ryan Myler (Brampton, ON) 6-5, then went on to lose 9-5 against Kevin Flewwelling (Toronto, ON). Balsdon responded with a 8-1 win over John Young Jr. (Chatham , ON). Balsdon won 6-2 against Richard Krell (Kitchener, ON), then won 5-4 against Tom Worth (Toronto, ON) in their final qualifying round match.
 
With their runner-up finish at the Brantford Nissan Classic, Balsdon take home 9.450 world rankings points along with the $3,500CDN prize, moving up 2 spots the World Ranking Standings into 21st place overall with 106.555 total points.
