To advance to the championship game, Balsdon won 6-5 over Jake Higgs (Glencoe, ON) in the semifinals of the 2013 Stroud Sleeman Cash Spiel in Innisfil, Ontario, Canada; and won 7-1 over Bill Irwin (Barrie, ON) in the quarterfinals. of the 2013 Stroud Sleeman Cash Spiel in Innisfil, Ontario, Canada;

Balsdon finished 3-1 in the 24-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Balsdon defeated Ontario's Jeff Clark 7-5, then went on to lose 7-4 against Matt Paul (Ottawa, ON). Balsdon responded with a 9-1 win over Ken Leach (Stroud, ON). Balsdon won 8-6 against Jamie Murphy (Halifax, NS) in their final qualifying round match.

For winning the Stroud Sleeman Cash Spiel Championship title, Balsdon earned 6.500 world rankings points along with the $3,000CDN first prize cheque. For week 10 of the event schedule, Balsdon did not improve upon their best events, remaining at th place on the World Ranking Standings with total points. Balsdon ranks th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with points earned so far this season.
