In their opening game, McCormick defeated Tyler George (Duluth, MN) 8-5, then went on to lose 6-5 against John Shuster (Duluth, MN). McCormick lost 6-5 to Pete Fenson (Bemidji, MN). McCormick lost 6-5 to Brady Clark (Lynnwood, WA). McCormick lost 9-6 to Fenson where McCormick responded with a 8-7 win over Shuster. McCormick won 10-5 against Clark, then won 8-5 against George in their final qualifying round match.

McCormick earned 4.000 world rankings points for their preliminary round wins, moving up 10 spots the World Ranking Standings into 64th place overall with 23.595 total points. McCormick ranks 57th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with 11.250 points earned so far this season.
