Currie finished 3-1 in the 18-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Currie defeated Minnesota's Cassie Potter 7-2, then won 6-3 against Dale Gibbs (St Paul, MN). Currie went on to lose 7-2 against Minnesota's Pete Fenson. Currie responded with a 8-1 win over Andy Borland (Hibbing, MN) in their final qualifying round match.
 
For winning the Bernick's Miller Lite Open Championship title, Currie earned 3.500 world rankings points along with the $3,132CDN first prize cheque, moving up 39 spots the World Ranking Standings into 114th place overall with 8.450 total points. Currie ranks 73rd overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with 5.600 points earned so far this season.
