Scoffin finished 5-0 in the 24-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Scoffin defeated Mario Freiberger (Zug, SUI) 12-2, then won 5-2 against Neil Gerrish (Calgary, AB) and 6-2 against Chad Dahlseide (Calgary, AB). Scoffin won 4-3 against Josh Lambden (Airdrie, AB), then won 6-4 against Kim in their final qualifying round match.
