Chang-Min Kim (Uiseong, KOR) won 3-2 over Thomas Scoffin (Edmonton, AB) in the Final of the Original 16 WCT Bonspiel, held November 8 - 10, 2013 in Calgary, Alberta. To advance to the championship game, Kim won 6-4 over Lloyd Hill (Calgary, AB) in the semifinals of the 2013 Original 16 WCT Bonspiel in Calgary, Alberta; and won 7-5 over Sean O'Connor (Calgary, AB) in the quarterfinals. of the 2013 Original 16 WCT Bonspiel in Calgary, Alberta;
Kim finished 4-1 in the 24-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Kim defeated Josh Lambden (Airdrie, AB) 7-6, then won 6-4 against Mario Freiberger (Zug, SUI) and 12-4 against Neil Gerrish (Calgary, AB). Kim won 8-4 against Chad Dahlseide (Calgary, AB). Kim went on to lose 6-4 against Scoffin in their final qualifying round match.
For winning the Original 16 WCT Bonspiel Championship title, Kim earned 5.500 world rankings points along with the $5,600CDN first prize cheque, moving up 15 spots the World Ranking Standings into 73rd place overall with 19.830 total points. Kim ranks 72nd overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with 7.080 points earned so far this season.
