Brad Gushue (St. John's, NL) won 6-3 over Rob Rumfeldt (Guelph, ON) in the Final of the Challenge Chateau Cartier de Gatineau, held October 24 - 27, 2013 at the Buckingham Curling Club in Buckingham, Canada. To advance to the championship game, Gushue won 7-2 over Howard Rajala (Ottawa, ON) in the semifinals of the 2013 Challenge Chateau Cartier de Gatineau in Buckingham, Quebec, Canada; and won 3-2 over Brad Jacobs (Sault Ste Marie, ON) in the quarterfinals. of the 2013 Challenge Chateau Cartier de Gatineau in Buckingham, Quebec, Canada;
Gushue finished 4-0 in the 32-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Gushue defeated Gary Rowe (Ottawa, ON) 7-5, then won 5-3 against Craig Kochan (Toronto, ON) and 6-4 against Wayne Tuck Jr. (Brantford, ON). Gushue won 4-2 against Brian Lewis (Ottawa, ON) in their final qualifying round match.
For winning the Challenge Chateau Cartier de Gatineau Championship title, Gushue earned 22.620 world rankings points along with the $11,000CDN first prize cheque, remaining in 7th place overall on the World Ranking Standings with 249.605 total points. Gushue ranks 3rd overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with 101.980 points earned so far this season.
