In their opening game, Plesnick defeated Nicholas Hlivak (Houghton, MI) 7-2, then won 8-6 against Steve Noble (Rochester, NY). Plesnick went on to lose 5-3 against Evan Jensen (St. Paul, MN) in their final qualifying round match.
