Michael Roy (Airdrie, AB) lost 5-4 to Thomas Scoffin (Edmonton, AB) in the Final of the AB SUBWAY Junior Mens Provincial, held January 9 - 13, 2013 at the Thistle Curling Club in Edmonton, Canada. To advance to the championship game, Roy won 8-7 over Daylan Vavrek (Sexsmith, AB) in the semifinals of the 2013 AB SUBWAY Junior Mens Provincial in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada;
 
Roy finished 5-2 in the 0-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Roy defeated Scott Smith (Calgary, AB) 6-2, then won 6-5 against Denton Koch (Medicine Hat, AB) and 8-2 against Brayden Power (Edmonton, AB). Roy won 8-7 against Vavrek. Roy went on to lose 9-2 against Scoffin. Roy responded with a 8-4 win over Aiden Procter (Edmonton, AB). Roy went on to lose 7-4 against Devin Burkitt (Dawson Creek, BC) in their final qualifying round match.
