Glen Muirhead (Perth, SCO) qualified for the 2012 Stirling Invitational playoffs, dropping their quarterfinals match 4-2 against Scotland's Frazer Hare. of the 2012 Stirling Invitational in Stirling, Scotland;

Muirhead finished 5-0 in the 24-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Muirhead defeated Ewan MacDonald (Perth, SCO) 6-5, then won 4-3 against Scotland's Stuart Taylor and 7-2 against Mark Neeleman (Zoetemeer, NED). Muirhead won 6-4 against Kyle Smith (Perth, SCO), then won 6-2 against Scotland's Daryl Russell in their final qualifying round match.

Muirhead earned 1.680 world rankings points for their Top 5 finish in the Stirling Invitational, moving up 2 spots the World Ranking Standings into 72nd place overall with 22.826 total points. Muirhead ranks 74th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with 9.755 points earned so far this season.
