Konschuh finished 3-1 in the 15-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Konschuh defeated Lowell Peterman (Red Deer, AB) 7-3, then won 6-3 against Alberta's Robert Schlender and 5-4 against Jon Rennie (Calgary, AB). Konschuh went on to lose 8-3 against Holly Whyte (Edmonton, AB) in their final qualifying round match.
