In their opening game, Epping lost 7-5 to Joel Jordison (Moose Jaw, SK), then responded with a 10-2 win over Japan's Naoki Iwanaga. Epping went on to lose 5-4 against Thomas Ulsrud (oslo, NOR). Epping responded with a 11-6 win over Jim Cotter (Kelowna/Vernon, BC). Epping went on to lose 5-4 against Sven Michel (Adelboden, SUI) in their final qualifying round match.
