Kevin Kakela (Rolla, ND) finished 2-3 in the 18-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Kakela defeated Randy Baird (Bemidji, MN) 4-3, then went on to lose 4-3 against Al Hackner (Thunder Bay , NONT). Kakela lost 7-3 to Kyle Doering (Winnipeg, MB) where Kakela responded with a 7-1 win over North Dakota's Scott Brown. Kakela went on to lose 6-5 against John Shuster (Duluth, MN) in their final qualifying round match.

. For week 11 of the event schedule, Kakela did not improve upon their best events, remaining at th place on the World Ranking Standings with total points. Kakela ranks th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with points earned so far this season.
