Nix won 7-6 against Marg Cutcliffe (Halifax, NS), then won 8-6 against Mary Mattatall (Halifax, NS). Nix went on to lose 9-1 against Arsenault. Nix responded with a 9-7 win over Smith in their final qualifying round match.
