Mitch Young (Whitehorse, YK) finished 5-4 in the 0-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Young defeated Tyler Smith (Cornwall, PEI) 7-3, then went on to lose 9-5 against Aaron Squires (St. Thomas, ON). Young lost 11-7 to Tyler Klymchuk (Langley, BC) where Young responded with a 7-2 win over David Kakuktinniq (Rankin Inlet, NU). Young went on to lose 6-4 against Thomas Scoffin (Edmonton, AB). Young lost 7-3 to Brady Scharback (Saskatoon, SK) where Young responded with a 14-2 win over Daniel Murray (Yellowknife, NT). Young won 7-6 against Zach Warkentin (Thunder Bay, NONT), then won 8-5 against Adam Boland (Gander, NL) in their final qualifying round match.
