Morozumi responded with a 10-8 win over Brad Jacobs (Sault Ste Marie, CAN). Morozumi went on to lose 6-5 against Andrey Drozdov (Moscow, RUS). Morozumi lost 10-5 to Jiri Snitil (Praha, CZE). Morozumi lost 8-5 to Sven Michel (Adelboden, SUI) in their final qualifying round match.

Morozumi earned 6.000 world rankings points for their preliminary round wins, moving up 15 spots the World Ranking Standings into 72nd place overall with 26.930 total points. Morozumi ranks 67th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with 14.750 points earned so far this season.
