Brad Gushue (St. John's, NL) qualified for the 2013 Pomeroy Inn & Suites Prairie Showdown playoffs, dropping their quarterfinals match 6-3 against Mike McEwen (Winnipeg, MB). of the 2013 Pomeroy Inn & Suites Prairie Showdown in Grande Prairie, Alberta;

Gushue finished 4-2 in the 16-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Gushue defeated Jordan Steinke (Dawson Creek, BC) 7-6, then went on to lose 6-4 against Rui Liu (Harbin, CHN). Gushue responded with a 7-6 win over William Lyburn (Winnipeg, MB). Gushue won 3-2 against Kurt Balderston (Grande Prairie, AB). Gushue went on to lose 4-3 against Kevin Koe (Calgary, AB). Gushue responded with a 7-2 win over Charley Thomas (Calgary, AB) in their final qualifying round match.

Gushue earned 10.740 world rankings points for their Top 5 finish in the Pomeroy Inn & Suites Prairie Showdown, remaining in 9th place overall on the World Ranking Standings with a net gain of 4.74 after improving upon their best so far this season. Gushue ranks 8th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with 127.115 points earned so far this season.
