Steve Laycock (Saskatoon, SK) qualified for the 2013 Pomeroy Inn & Suites Prairie Showdown playoffs, dropping their quarterfinals match 3-2 against Kevin Koe (Calgary, AB). of the 2013 Pomeroy Inn & Suites Prairie Showdown in Grande Prairie, Alberta;

Laycock finished 3-2 in the 16-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Laycock defeated Brendan Bottcher (Edmonton, AB) 7-6, then won 5-3 against Kurt Balderston (Grande Prairie, AB). Laycock went on to lose 5-3 against Rui Liu (Harbin, CHN). Laycock lost 4-0 to Mike McEwen (Winnipeg, MB) where Laycock responded with a 7-4 win over Balderston in their final qualifying round match.

Laycock earned 10.740 world rankings points for their Top 5 finish in the Pomeroy Inn & Suites Prairie Showdown, moving up 1 spots the World Ranking Standings into 18th place overall with 129.217 total points. Laycock ranks 11th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with 89.331 points earned so far this season.
