In their opening game, Vevers lost 6-4 to Lene Nielsen (Hvidovre, DEN), droppimg another game, 6-3 to Anna Kubeskova (Praha, CZE) where Vevers responded with a 5-4 win over Anette Norberg (Karlstad, SWE). Vevers went on to lose 7-2 against Michele Jaggi (Bern, SUI). Vevers responded with a 8-3 win over Finland's Oona Kauste in their final qualifying round match.
