Montgomery won 5-3 against Ken McArdle (New Westminster, BC), then won 8-4 against Jay Tuson (Victoria, BC) in their final qualifying round match.
Montgomery earned 0.750 world rankings points for their Top 5 finish in the Vancouver Island Shootout, moving up 17 spots the World Ranking Standings into 223rd place overall with 2.481 total points.
