Bingyu Wang (Harbin, CHN) won 6-4 over Lene Nielsen (Hvidovre, DEN) in the Final of the Valley First Crown of Curling, held October 19 - 22, 2012 at the Kamloops Curling Club in Kamloops, Canada. To advance to the championship game, Wang won 8-2 over Sarah Koltun (Whitehorse, YK) in the semifinals of the 2012 Valley First Crown of Curling in Kamloops, British Columbia, Canada; and won 7-1 over Allison MacInnes (Kamloops, BC) in the quarterfinals.
Wang finished 4-2 in the 24-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Wang lost 6-4 to Kirsten Fox (New Westminster, BC), droppimg another game, 7-4 to Ayumi Ogasawara (Kariuzawa, JPN) where Wang responded with a 7-3 win over Adina Tasaka (New Westminister, BC). Wang won 10-4 against Lisa Eyamie (High River, AB), then won 4-3 against Fox and 9-3 against Desiree Schmidt (Castlegar, BC) in their final qualifying round match.
For winning the Valley First Crown of Curling Championship title, Wang earned 5.500 world rankings points along with the $8,000CDN first prize cheque, remaining in 20th place overall on the World Ranking Standings with 73.700 total points. Wang ranks 34th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with 11.375 points earned so far this season.
