Katie Morrissey (Ottawa, ON) qualified for the 2012 Guelph Womens Cashspiel playoffs, dropping their quarterfinals match 8-7 against Tiffany Anjema (Waterloo, ON). of the 2012 Guelph Womens Cashspiel in Guelph, Ontario, Canada;

Morrissey finished 3-2 in the 18-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Morrissey lost 8-2 to Julie Reddick (Toronto, ON), then responded with a 7-6 win over Marilyn Bodogh (St Catharine's, ON). Morrissey won 7-0 against Kelly Cochrane (Toronto, ON). Morrissey went on to lose 6-5 against Jennifer Spencer (Brampton, ON). Morrissey responded with a 5-4 win over Lesley Pyne (Ajax, ON) in their final qualifying round match.

Morrissey earned 0.825 world rankings points for their Top 5 finish in the Guelph Womens Cashspiel, moving up 22 spots the World Ranking Standings into 164th place overall with 1.575 total points.
