McEwen won 8-5 against Kevin Martin (Edmonton, AB). McEwen went on to lose 7-4 against Kevin Koe (Calgary, AB). McEwen lost 7-5 to Jeff Stoughton (winnipeg, MB) in their final qualifying round match.

McEwen earned 25.000 world rankings points for their Top 3 finish in the Capital One Canada Cup of Curling, moving up 1 spots the World Ranking Standings into 2nd place overall with 365.110 total points.
