King finished 3-1 in the 16-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, King defeated Matt Willerton (Edmonton, AB) 9-2, then won 7-1 against Robert Schlender (Edmonton, AB) and 7-5 against Thomas Scoffin (Edmonton, AB). King went on to lose 8-7 against David Nedohin (Edmonton, AB) in their final qualifying round match.
