Tom Appelman (Edmonton, AB) qualified for the 2012 Wainwright Roaming Buffalo Classic playoffs, dropping their quarterfinals match 6-0 against Jamie King (Edmonton, AB). of the 2012 Wainwright Roaming Buffalo Classic in Wainwright, Alberta;

Appelman finished 4-2 in the 32-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Appelman defeated Shawn Donnelly (Edmonton, AB) 7-4, then went on to lose 6-5 against Robert Schlender (Edmonton, AB). Appelman lost 7-4 to Brent Pierce (New Westminster, BC) where Appelman responded with a 7-1 win over Jeremy Roe (Madison, WI). Appelman won 9-2 against Drew Heidt (Kindersley, SK), then won 3-2 against Joel Jordison (Moose Jaw, SK) in their final qualifying round match.

Appelman earned 3.825 world rankings points for their Top 5 finish in the Wainwright Roaming Buffalo Classic, moving up 3 spots the World Ranking Standings into 32nd place overall with 49.926 total points.
