Jason Jacobson (Saskatoon, SK) qualified for the 2012 Wainwright Roaming Buffalo Classic playoffs, dropping their quarterfinals match 5-2 against Mark Johnson (Seattle, WA).

Jacobson finished 4-2 in the 32-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Jacobson lost 5-4 to Thomas Scoffin (Edmonton, AB), droppimg another game, 8-2 to Brent Pierce (New Westminster, BC) where Jacobson responded with a 9-2 win over Murray Westman (Wainwright, AB). Jacobson won 6-5 against Scott Egger (Brooks, AB), then won 5-2 against Scoffin and 6-1 against Josh Heidt (Kerrobert, SK) in their final qualifying round match.

Jacobson earned 3.825 world rankings points for their Top 5 finish in the Wainwright Roaming Buffalo Classic, moving up 3 spots the World Ranking Standings into 47th place overall with 34.137 total points. Jacobson ranks 29th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with 27.925 points earned so far this season.
