Ferris finished 4-0 in the 20-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Ferris defeated Jeremy Roe (Madison, WI) 8-2, then won 8-4 against Jon St. Denis (Stouffville, ON) and 5-4 against Gord Thompson (Stroud, ON). Ferris won 7-1 against Don Campbell (Barrie, ON) in their final qualifying round match.
 
For winning the CookstownCash presented by Comco Canada Inc Championship title, Ferris earned 2.500 world rankings points along with the $4,000CDN first prize cheque, moving up 20 spots the World Ranking Standings into 113th place overall with 9.226 total points.
