To advance to the championship game, Zou won 4-1 over Rui Liu (Harbin, CHN) in the semifinals of the 2012 Horizon Laser Vision Center Classic in Regina, Saskatchewan, Canada; and won 7-4 over Scott Manners (North Battleford, SK) in the quarterfinals. of the 2012 Horizon Laser Vision Center Classic in Regina, Saskatchewan, Canada;

Zou finished 3-0 in the 16-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Zou defeated Gedak 5-3, then won 7-0 against Michelle Englot (Regina, SK) and 4-3 against William Coutts (Regina, SK) in their final qualifying round match.

For winning the Horizon Laser Vision Center Classic Championship title, Zou earned 6.500 world rankings points along with the $5,500CDN first prize cheque, moving up 57 spots the World Ranking Standings into 86th place overall with 11.500 total points. Zou ranks 27th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with 11.500 points earned so far this season.
